We very proudly announce the completion and execution of a challenging project: the Automotive Street Style’s official trailer’s wrap. Akira worked closely with Jerome “Junk Yard Dog” Williams to create a head turning wrap for his specially outfitted and designed trailer. It will be touring coast to coast starting on May 18, where it will be displayed at the New York City Custom Auto Show, in NY, NY. The trailer will be used to promote AS2 and showcase JYD’s latest line of high end electronics.

<o> </o>This project was definitely fun and a stimulating challenge, from working on such a huge scale to making sure all the different elements of the design fit in properly with the multitude of openings, doors, and windows of the trailer. We’re glad that JYD is very satisfied with it and we can’t wait to take the next project on.

Watch out for the newly redesigned AutomotiveStreetStyle.com website, coming very, very soon!<o></o>

Many designers use programs such as ACDSEE to preview their thumbnails for PSD’s. Sometimes you don’t want to use the extra resource’s or you just want to see the thumbnails of your PSD’s in regular Windows Explore.

There is an easy fix to enable Windows to make thumbnails for your PSD’s which doesn’t require a lot of resources. They will thumbnail just like any other photo would on your PC.

1. Download this file to a temporary folder.

2. Shut down all Adobe programs.

3. Set a ’system return point’ to allow you to rollback the changes should anything go wrong (if your system supports it)

3. Unzip it to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe Shell. You could quite likely already have either of the DLL files. No matter. (You must already have PhotoShop or this folder will not exist. This fix will not work unless photoshop is installed.)

4. Run ‘aiicon.dll.reg’ by double clicking it.

5. Run ‘psicon.dll.reg’ by double clicking it.

Thats it. Reboot and it should be working. This has been tested for both Windows XP and Windows Vista.

here’s some comparison shots

Ground Dynamics:

Seriously, the company just upped and replaced logos on their site and called it their own. I mean, they’ve still retained our logo on the site, that’s actually how I came across them. I googled Akira Graphics and came across their site which, in the source code, lists “Designed by Akira Graphics”

About Us section: Still displays our client’s building/storefront! Yes they photoshopped a couple of cars on either side of the building, but it’s still their building. The company claims to be a Virginia-based company, but with a couple more clicks that lead to Contact us, their address is listed as: 403-Abhishree complex, Opp Star Bazaar, Satellite, Ahmedabad-380015 Gujarat INDIA!

FAQ section: I guess they got too tired and just stuck with what we created for Ground Dynamics but replaced GD’s info with their own. When I checked out their site, it clearly still displays our logo on the frontpage bottom. Inside, they got creative and replaced our logo with their own. BUT, in the source (alt tag), they’ve retained our credit when you mousover their logo, it’ll display our credentials. Go figure!

Granted they stole a much older version of our client’s site, it still sucks. This has happened numerous times to Akira and I don’t think it’s the last. We just have to accept that there will be unoriginal people out there

Idea Factory…needs to go generate some new ideas.
